HOW THE OVERLOAD STARTED...
After knowing each other for years and both having been in a long line of bands that never went very far...the core members of BRAINSTEM OVERLOAD, Gav Callear and Kelv Bidwell, decided to start their own project.
The brief was simple; To make some 'Evil and Sinister' Music.
Drawing on his love of the early 80's, Bay Area Thrash Bands and the musical influences of the 'Big Four' in particular...Gav set to work on some simple, but heavy tunes with the one and only goal of just having fun with it.
As the tracks emerged, Kelv used his newly found skills, adding his unique and distinctive vocal lines to bring the songs to life with a very 'Lemmy meets Devil Driver' style, pure attitude driven performance.
Now, a year or so on, a very particular style has emerged and the music has taken on a character of its own. Combining their various influences and musical styles has resulted in a fusion of Old-School Thrash, Modern Death Metal and Classic Hard Rock that all add up to one thing...
